Mission Statement

The Little NICU Fighters Project is dedicated to providing free newborn photography sessions to families whose babies have spent time in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Our mission is to capture and preserve the precious moments of these little fighters, while also bringing joy and hope to families during what can be a difficult time. We believe that every baby and family deserves to have beautiful, professional photos, and we are committed to giving back to our community by providing this service as a charity. A long NICU stay doesn't mean you should miss out on the adorable newborn pictures of your most precious baby. Our goal is to make a positive impact on the lives of these families and celebrate the strength and resilience of these little ones.

A message from Taylor Pierce
​
As a mother of two NICU babies, I know firsthand the challenges that families face during and after a NICU stay. That's why I founded The Little NICU Fighters Project, a program that provides free newborn photography sessions for families who have experienced a NICU stay. My first baby was a 25 weeker and stayed in the NICU for over 5 months. That was one of the hardest times in our lives. After struggling with secondary infertility, we became pregnant with our second. He was born preterm as well but luckily had a shorter stay of only 2 weeks. Both experiences were hard. I wanted nothing more than to be "that family" that got to bring their newborn home from the hospital with them. ALL NICU STAYS ARE HARD. They are all the strongest little fighters I know.
Our mission is to offer support, comfort, and hope to these families, while capturing the beauty and resilience of their little fighters. With my own personal experience, I understand the importance of preserving these precious moments and I am committed to giving back to my community by offering this service as a charity. Our goal is to make a positive impact on the lives of these families and create lasting memories that they can treasure forever.

What do the families receive?
Any eligible family that if offered a newborn session through The Little Fighters Project will receive: a free newborn session, 10 high-resolution digital images to keep, solo newborn portraits and family newborn portraits. The session will take place in the studio.

Eligibility

The Little Fighters Project is for NICU babies only. Applicants must have had a stay in a hospitals NICU (not nursery). You will need to confirm which hospital your infant stayed and provide a picture of the NICU stay (its best to provide a picture of you (the parents) within the frame).

Only babies that are currently in the NICU or just released are eligible for The Little Fighters Project. You may see if your baby is eligible if you are already out of the NICU. Generally, if you have been out of the NICU for more than 3 weeks or if the baby is over 10 pounds, then you may not be eligible for a newborn session. This also depends on the amount of applications we have. You may apply if your baby is currently in the NICU and you know you will need photos while still in the NICU.

Disclaimers
The Little Fighters Project is subject to availability. Newborn sessions are only offered at the studio for babies out of the hospital. Only one session per month is provided. You must apply below and then complete the application once sent. You will be notified if you qualify then if you are chosen. If multiple applicants apply for the same month, the applicant chosen will be random. Financial status is not considered for The Little Fighters Project. The chosen applicant must sign a waiver/ contract and model release. The project can be discontinued at any time or temporarily closed for new applications.
